Buying a firearm in New York, without the runaround

New York Gun Shop is an online dealer. There is no counter to drive to, no membership, and no price that changes depending on who is asking. You see the same catalogue and the same numbers everyone else does: handguns, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, optics, magazines and the small parts that are always out of stock somewhere else.

The order itself is simple. You pick what you want, you pay, and the firearm ships sealed to a licensed dealer near you. You go in with your ID, fill in the federal form, they run the background check, and you carry it out. Anything that is not a firearm - ammunition, a red dot, a spare magazine, a cleaning kit - ships straight to your address where your local rules allow it.

Where our orders go

We ship to dealers across the state: the five boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk on Long Island, Westchester and the Hudson Valley, Albany and the Capital Region, and west through Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo. Rules are not the same everywhere in New York. The city, Nassau and Suffolk are stricter than the rest of the state, and what may be transferred changes with them. We check your order against the address it is going to before it ships. If something in your cart cannot legally be transferred where you live, we tell you and refund it that day - you never find out at the dealer's counter.

What we stock

The catalogue runs to tens of thousands of listings, and it is a working inventory rather than a showroom. Carry pistols from Glock, Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer, Springfield and Taurus. Duty and range rifles, hunting rifles in the calibres people in this state actually use, and shotguns for birds, clays and the back of a closet. Ammunition by the box and by the case. Optics, mounts, slings, holsters, springs, pins and the rest of the small hardware that keeps a rifle running.

If you cannot find something, the search bar reaches the whole catalogue, not just the front page. Type a model, a calibre or a part number and it will be there or it will not - we would rather show you an honest empty result than bury you in near misses.

Prices, and what happens after you pay

Prices are listed plainly, with no countdown timers and no invented list price crossed out to make a number look smaller. Shipping is free over $99. Returns run 30 days on anything unfired and in its original box.

After you order you get an email with your order number, what you bought, where it is going and a link to finish payment if you have not already. When the money lands we tell you, and when the package leaves we tell you that too. If you have a question, the address on the contact page reaches a person, not a ticket queue.
