Description

This is an excellent performance suppressor that offers outstanding sound suppression for pistols such as the Walther P22 with decibel reductions of an average of 38.3. This suppressor, for diameter, baffle stack, weight, etc. was built around the Walther P22, and works equally well on other .22 LR pistols or rifles. On a Walther P22 it will sound like your pellet gun at a price that is not much more than a pellet gun.

The TAC65 .22LR suppressor continues to set the standard for outstanding performance, light weight and an incredibly low price. As suppressor purchasers become more educated and understand the mechanics and construction of suppressors, the high performance features of the TAC65 at such an affordable retail price continues to make it one of the suppressor market’s more popular choices. Compare the TAC65 to any other .22LR suppressor and we’re sure that you’ll agree that a TAC65 delivers the perfect combination of performance and price.Thread 1/2 x 28 tpiSize 1.080 OD x 6″Weight 4.2 OuncesFinish Hard Black Anodized Pistol 38.3 dB ReductionConstruction CNC Lathe Quality, Machined Blast Baffle, 2 Stage ” K ” Baffles, Threaded Endcaps, 6 Point Disassembly

works great but hard to clean

Posted by roger on May 7th 2016

i love this suppressor except when it comes to cleaning. it can be very difficult to get it apart . even with anti-sieze the lead buildup on the tube walls make it very hard to get the baffles out. the problem is there is no easy way to put antiseize on the inside of the tube. the baffles are such a tight fit that even if you coat the inside of the tube the baffles will scrape it all off when you assemble it which leaves the tube exposed to lead and carbon build up.

this is a good starter suppressor, its cheap and it works and can be serviced. However i recommend buying a sparrow or tactical solutions axiom that come with a sleeve that goes between the baffles and the tube which makes disassemble easy. Right now im waiting on my tax stamp for the axiom.

due to the tax and time it takes to get a new suppressor i recommend saving your money to buy a better one or you will end up like me having to buy a new one down the road. if i had saved up originally it would have only been an extra $150-200 now its an extra $550 for a 350 can and another $200 stamp.

Tactical Innovations TAC 65

I purchased this silencer about 5 years ago. I have shot thousands of rounds through it and it’s always performed flawlessly. I use mine on a Walther P22, Sig Mosquito, and several 22 rifles including an AR-15 with a 22 conversion upper (DO NOT shoot 223 through this silencer).

I love this silencer on the pistols, as you don’t have to shoot subsonic ammo for the silencer to properly function. Because of the pistol barrel length the bullet doesn’t have a chance to get to the speed of sound (at least in Utah’s elevation). I like to shoot the supersonic ammo through the pistols because they will cycle and operate perfectly, where sometimes they will not cycle with Subsonic. On the rifles, you do need to use the subsonic ammo, unless you want to hear the sonic boom.

I was surprised by the sound of this silencer the first time I used it. I had always heard the sound they made in movies, which was a "high pitch" sound. The sound of this silencer shot from a pistol sounds much like a paintball or air gun when you use a supersonic bullet, but much quieter when you shoot subsonic. This silencer is very quiet when used with a rifle and using subsonic ammunition.

I did mess up my Tac65 using an improper cleaning technique. This was my first silencer, so you learn from your mistakes I guess. Anyway, I soaked it in an ammonia-based solution for several days, which ate off the finish and pitted the body like acid. I now know ammonia reacts like acid with aluminum. When I contacted Tactical Innovations to see what could be done they responded very professionally and took care of the problem. They were able to repair the silencer at a very reasonable charge. Whatever you do, don’t use Simple Green or any other ammonia-based cleaners to clean your aluminum suppressors.

This silencer uses ?baffles? to silence rather than the older ?wipe? type system. The advantage of this system is you do not have to rebuild it or pump it full of grease. This silencer can be taken apart and cleaned in a short amount of time. Tactical Innovations makes a neat little tool, which fits on a socket wrench used for dismantling your silencer to clean it. From there you just remove each baffle to clean it.

I can?t think of a single thing I dislike about this silencer. I love this product, and especially the price. The manufacturer has been great to work with over the years.
