Extremely accurate and has quickly become my favorite rifle.Put a 6.5-20×50 vortex viper for the sights and shooting a perfect 1 inch group at 200 yards.Cant wait to get out and shoot even further.

Perfect Weapon

I purchased the Remington 700P LTR .308 over a year ago. I have shot hundreds of rifles and have never shot a better performer than this one.

I am on a police sniper team, and see the most consistent sub-0.25 MOA results all of the time fired from this rifle. Combined with 168gr and 175gr BTHP match rounds, it’s absolutely amazing!

Generally speaking, this rifle will out-shoot the operator any day of the week.

Great gun

I received the 700p ltr through a friend who got access to these. This was probably 6 years ago when they were hard to find. If you buy one try shooting gold match 168 bthp without reloading unless you like that kind of thing. Mine shot directly out of the box 5 shots same hole. I’d say roughly .25-.5 moa. I have the adjustable trigger in mine I believe it was a 40x not the junky new Remington triggers. I adjusted it to about 2.5-3lb I believe put a vortex pst viper 6-24 on it and it outshoots half the guys who paid twice as much. I did receive it was a pen head size chip off the hs stock but whatever. I used my weapons it didn’t bother me. Remington told me they would take care of it and gave me free shipping to send it back. I didn’t want to take my scope off and have to redo the sighting in or have the gun get dinged up so I left it.

Great rifle, you won’t be disappointed

Posted by Viking MN on Nov 28th 2011

I have had this rifle for a few years now and it’s awesome. I developed a load for it that averages .5" groups, never goes over 1" groups, and shoots sub .25" on a regular basis. It’s a blast to shoot and gets a lot of looks at the range. I still needs to take it out to 800yds, but the first time I shot it at 300 it printed a .5" group. The finish is a nice matte black that is very resistant to weather. I had the stock trigger adjusted down to 2.5lbs and it’s a joy to use. Action is smooth and never fails to eject. The only drawback it that the mag well doesn’t fit my hand loads. Other than that it’s been awesome.
