LEGACY VIET NAM Mini-gun Barrels

Four 7.62×51 Mini-gun barrels from 1967, in the middle of the Viet Nam war. These barrels are used but very serviceable. Carbon buildup on muzzles visible in one photo. Using an M-8 Barrel Erosion Gage, (see instruction photo), the bores gauged from 75% to 90% serviceable. Two barrels have slightly detectable bulges about 6 inches from the beginning of the bore. The condition of each barrel, using its identification information visible in one of the photos, is as follows. These are “best estimates” of the condition of the barrel rifling in each barrel:

H-R 11701204 4-67 L – 1/8” Stellite erosion in bore grooves and ½” erosion in lands. Bulge bore diameter measures at 70% serviceable range.

H-R 11701204 4-67 L – ¼” Stellite erosion in bore grooves and ½” erosion in lands. Bulge bore diameter measures at 60% serviceable range.

H-R 11701204 4-67 M – ¼” of Stellite erosion in bore lands and 1/8” in grooves.

H-R 11701204 1-67 J – Perfect Stellite bore.

The Stellite bore throughout the rest of the barrel lengths, to the muzzles of all four barrels, is excellent, to and including the muzzles.
