Marlin Model 60 Semi-Auto Rifle 22LR 19″ Barrel Wooden stock

Posted by Alan on Jan 13th 2019

I didn’t buy my Marlin Model 60 22LR Semi-Auto Rifle with wooden stock from Florida Guns, I bought my rifle new in 1975 for just over $80.00 including taxes at Western Auto, but it was called a Limited Edition, with the only difference is the tube magazine will hold 18 rounds, but it’s still basically the same rifle, I just wanted to share my experience and opinion about these Marlin Rifles, I still have this same rifle and I’m still using it and have fired thousands of rounds of ammo through it, and I’ve owned three different 10/22 Ruger rifles in the last 43 years and neither performed as good or was as accurate as the Marlin Model 60. It’s extremely accurate with the open sights and as long as you clean your rifle periodically, I never had a jam or misfire. Marlin is one of the most underated brands/models of guns on the market, but they can’t be beat as far as performance and durability and I have several different calibers and types of Marlin Rifles, both bolt action and semi-auto, and I have many different other brands/models and calibers of guns, that cost way more money, like I said, Marlin is one of the best on the market and in most cases, you can’t beat their prices. My wife has this same Marlin Model 60 Rifle that she bought in 1979, and she’s still using her’s to present day. For those that like using a scope, you can purchase the scope mounts for this rifle for mounting a scope. If you’re looking for a 22LR semi-auto rifle, the Marlin Model 60 rifle in my experience and opinion can’t be beat for the performance, accuracy, durability, and price.

Marlin Model 60

My Dad got me one in 1968 for my 10th birthday. It was a great machine then and still is. It’s a wonderful way to introduce and instruct young people about gun safety and the responsibility of gun ownership. Also a good way to get them interested in hunting. All while having a enjoyable time with a well made reliable weapon. The perfect plinker.

Buy this gun now or regret it for life

Posted by Masteraceman on Jan 24th 2013

This is the best value in a .22 semiauto rifle out there, its way more reliable than that old Ruger 10/22 Deluxe I dumped off on a pal over 20 years ago and HALF the price. It never fails to fire, its accurate as hell, what more can you ask for? I wish all guns were made this great, get one now before Remington messes this gun up too!

Perfect gun

First, i always belived that the more something cost the better it is, until i got this gun.

This gun get soaking wet, droped and abused almost every day and still shoots, cycles and fuctions perfectly. The barrel has rust all the way down, cleaned once a year and no problems.

BEST .22 owned out of my 8 others. I have never worried about this gun jaming or failing to shoot, thats why its worth every bit of 5 stars.

Outstanding .22 rifle

Posted by Matt W on Dec 28th 2011

I have had this gun for over 15 years and I am very impressed with it.For starters its accuracy(due to micro grooves)rivals well made bolt action .22s.I can shoot all 15 rounds into a 1.5 inch group at 50 yards open sighted. For a semi auto that is very good in my humble opinion. It has proven to be utterly reliable when cleaned after every 100+ shots.Never had any parts failure yet.Its price makes it stand out as a first rate choice for a person starting to learn shooting basics.Marlin makes great fire arms for their price.

had for 24 years

Posted by cody on Aug 7th 2011

I’ve had this gun since I was 7 years old; I’m 31 now. This gun has never had an issue and still shoots just as good as it did the first day I bought it. I have never replaced any parts on the gun, although I have cleaned the gun (almost) everytime I’ve used it. This will be $155 very well spent.

.

I’ve had the gun scoped and not; but, after 24 years, it’s really second nature with the old iron sites 🙂
